I first started in the geospatial industry in 1995. Back then there were a handful of organizations that contributed to the networking, but it was through a friend that I landed my first job. I worked my way through the various positions, technician, analyst, specialist, coordinator, and finally landed a job as a manager. Along the way I met many people that helped my career. I realized that I would not have made it to where I am now without the help of those that gave me advice.
Now that I am in a position to help I always jump at the chance to offer my advice to people just entering the industry or switching careers. I sit on the board of several different organizations that help coordinate mentoring opportunities either for students or new professionals in the industry.
This website is a passion for me. I am hoping that by building this website I can help foster relationships between the managers and the up and coming professionals. If you are looking for a mentor start here: Find a Mentor. If you want to help mentor then please register here: Become a Mentor.
